J. K. Crum

In December of '06, John introduced his current series: “Sailing Among the Clouds"" … a surrealistic voyage. John’s whimsical approach to life uses sailboats as his metaphor as he takes the viewer on an emotional and often whimsical journey. With this series he explores a humorous and surreal approach to express emotions.

John received his formal art training at the Ringling School of Art & Design in Sarasota, Florida. Upon graduation, he enjoyed a successful career as a graphic designer, illustrator, and book designer. He later became an Art Director for several educational book and magazine publishers. He has now eagerly taken on web design, web graphics, and maintenance.

In 2001, John and his family moved to Hilton Head Island where he pursues his painting full time from the beautiful South Carolina lowcountry. His murals and original paintings are displayed in several galleries and by individuals and corporate collections throughout the United States, Canada, Australia and South Africa.
